Well this year, we fried a turkey, this is the 4th year that we have done so, and each time is different. This year I thought I had the marinade for injecting the turkey in the cupboard but couldn't find it, and so I looked up a recipe at the last minute and here is kind of what I did:
Cajun Turkey Marinade:
1 cup Italian Dressing
1/3 cup apple juice
1.5 tsp Garlic powder
1.5 tsp onion powder
2 Tbs paprika
2 tsp poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp white pepper
I think this is what I added, I wrote down some notes and this is what I have listed, plus cayanne pepper but couldn't find it. How I did this was throw the dry seasonings into a container for travel and then when it was time to marinade I added the Italian dressing and since the original recipe wanted a 1/3 cup ale, and we were all out I used some apple juice, also I may have added some cajun seasoning to the mixture. The Cajun seasoning was store bought and it was rubbed all over the Turkey pre-frying, after marinating and rubbing, we let set in fridge over night, and now the moment we have all waited for:
