The eastern portion of Oregon looks much like the central-to-western portion of Idaho:
but the scenery gets better as you hit central-to-western Oregon:
We stopped to enjoy some views at the top of McKenzie Pass, where there are extensive lava fields and an observatory made out of lava rock:
The kids made friends with the local wildlife:

Rick and the kids decided to try out for new jobs. Rick posed as a tree, Skyler joined a totem pole, and Layla cozied up to a new chilly friend:
