a drive to visit some places that have meaning
for me. We left from Pocatello in the a.m.,
stopping in Blackfoot to see some places I
remember from my childhood. (My mom and
two sisters live in Pocatello; my family lived
in Blackfoot for a few years when I was a kid.)
Jensen's Grove is a place that we visited often
when I was little. Dad would take us and we
would look for snail shells on the beach and
play frisbee in the grass. Fond memories.
Skyler got to see the giant spud statue up
close and personal . . . but he forgot to bring
a fork.
I got to see the grade school I went to. I
was first introduced to the game of volleyball
in the building shown below.
We then drove up to Pexburg, uh, I mean
Rexburg, where I attended college for one
year after high school.
The school was Ricks College when I attended,
but you can see that it has changed a lot since
I was there.
We visited the dorm I lived in for several
months. It looked very much the same.
The temple is a lovely addition to the
town and campus.
After leaving Rexburg, we stopped in Idaho
Falls to see the temple. A very nice missionary
took our family's picture for us.
My sisters and I were sealed to our parents
in the Idaho Falls temple over twenty-five
years ago. I have included some pictures
below that I took yesterday.
Layla was worn out by the time we were
done sight-seeing.
It was a wonderful day. I enjoyed sharing my
"walk down memory lane" with my little
family, and I hope you have enjoyed it, too.
